U.S.-China Environmental Education Foundation Received an Award from U.S. Department of Commerce for Generating Exports and Supporting High Quality U.S. Jobs

On September 21, 2022, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo  from the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced that U.S.-China Environmental Education Foundation (UCEEF) was awarded for generating exports and supporting high-quality U.S. jobs. Commerce’s International Trade Administration’s Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) is awarding more than $1.7 million to promote U.S. exports with support of generating and preserving high-quality jobs in the U.S.

UCEEF’s Export of Resource Recovery and Recycle Equipment project is being supported by USDOC, which help waste management and recycle firms to compete in this high demand and profitable market that can potentially help boost U.S. exports and create new and high-quality jobs within the country.

With support from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC), and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), UCEEF worked as 2016 cooperator of the USDOC Market Development Cooperation Program and developed an English-Chinese bilingual information and commercial website (EnvGuide.com), which has reached more than 50,000 professionals and potential consumers across China, France, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Canada and the US. Through this resource, international exposure for U.S. environmental protection companies has been greatly increased.

UCEEF was founded with a mission to promote environmental education in the fields of both engineering/sciences and business cultures, particularly between the US and China. As a 501(c)3 corporation, UCEEF strives to build a bridge of cooperation between American and Chinese environmental industries and organizations through the establishment of an understanding of culture and business.

UCEEF, as the MDCP 2022 cooperator, aims to work closely with ITA in Washington DC and the US Embassy and Consulates in various countries to assist US environmental companies, such as solid waste classification and recovery equipment suppliers, wastewater sludge disposal technology and equipment suppliers, and operational carbon reduction and reduce technologies suppliers, enter China. With Chinese rising solid waste and carbon control market, US manufacturers have the potential to increase exports to China.
